Sun exposure and tattoo removal

As the Denver sun gets stronger and summer approaches, I wanted to send a friendly reminder about the crucial role sun protection plays in your tattoo removal journey.

You're making a WISE CHOICE by investing in clear skin, and to ensure the best results, keeping your treated tattoo out of the sun is absolutely essential.

Why is Sun Exposure a Problem?
The main reason is hypopigmentation, which is the lightening of the skin in the treated area. When your skin is tanned, it's more susceptible to this side effect during or after laser treatments. Sunshine can also prolong the healing process and increase the risk of other complications.

Your Summer Game Plan:
Cover Up: The easiest and most effective way to protect your treated tattoo is to keep it covered with clothing when in the sun.
Wait for Your Tan to Fade: If you do get sun exposure on the treated area, it's vital to wait until your tan has completely faded before your next treatment. This ensures the laser targets the ink effectively and safely, minimizing risks like hypopigmentation.  I recommend you wait 3-4 weeks after sun exposure.
